2017 Park Tool School Workshops

park-tool-schoolWe are happy to announce that our Park Tool School Workshops will continue in 2017!

The Park Tool School is a hands-on maintenance and repair clinic written by Park Tool and taught by the experts here at TriCycle and Run. Learn how your bike works, how to change a flat or overhaul your bike completely. Clinic curriculum and materials originate from the BBB-3 Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair, which acts as the outline for each clinic.  Our clinic will review the basics of home bicycle maintenance, plus give you the skills to perform basic bicycle tune-ups and diagnose and repair mechanical issues as they arise.

Registration fee:  $150 (includes a Park Tool Mechanics Apron & a copy of the Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair – a $50 Value)

2017 DATES:

January Park Tool School:  January 8 & 22  REGISTER HERE

February Park Tool School:  February 5 & 19   REGISTER HERE

**UPDATED**  March Park Tool School:  March 12 & 19  REGISTER HERE

Each workshop is a 2-day classroom style setting.  Class hours are 9:00am-1:00pm.  Lunch will be provided each day.  The registration fee of $150 is due on the first day of class.  Day one of each workshop will be an overview of basic bicycle information and maintenance knowledge.  Day 2 will be an intense hands-on classroom, so you are encouraged to bring your bicycle with you to class.  If you do not have a bicycle, but still want to learn, we can provide you with a bike to work on.  You should prepare to get your hands dirty on day 2!  It is truly a FUN experience, and a great workshop for every bike enthusiast!

REGISTRATION is required for these workshops as space is limited.  Please use the links posted above to register for either January, February or March.

HOLIDAY SHOPPERS, we think it is a great idea to purchase a GIFT CERTIFICATE to cover the cost of the clinic for the bike enthusiast in your life.  If you are interested, please call Laura today (410)745-2836.

Spring Fling FREE 5K Fun Run

Join us for our Spring Fling FREE Fun Run on Sunday, April 15 at 9:00am!

Our FREE 5K Fun Run series continues with the Spring Fling 5K on Sunday, April 15th.  A FREE Fun Run means NO registration fee, but we do ask that everyone bring something to donate to our charity partner.  For this race, please plan to bring an item to donate to the Cancer Center in Easton, MD.  Your donations will be given to patients currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments.  Suggested items to donate include:  warm throw blankets, scarves, hats, magazines, crossword puzzles, personal tissue packets, and the list goes on.  Please avoid anything that is heavily perfumed (lotions, candles, etc) as it can increase nausea symptoms in patients.

So many friends and family members have been affected by cancer, and this is just one small way to show support and give back to the community at large.

Encourage everyone you know to register online!  As for race day, please plan to arrive at the shop (TriCycle and Run – 929 S. Talbot St. – St. Michaels – MD – 21663) no later than 8:30am to pick up your bib and complete registration.  Please plan to park at St. MIchaels Elementary School (on Seymour Ave.), then make the short walk down to the shop.  There will be a pre-race meeting in the front parking lot at 8:45am.  We will then walk as a group to the start line across the street at 9:00am.

Online Registration can be found HERE

As usual, this event is designed to be FUN!!  As such, this is a prediction race….meaning that just because you cross the finish line first, doesn’t necessarily mean that you are the race winner.  You will need to guess your finish time by the closest margin to be declared a race winner!!

We can’t wait to see you all in a few weeks!!
