2017 Park Tool School Workshops

park-tool-schoolWe are happy to announce that our Park Tool School Workshops will continue in 2017!

The Park Tool School is a hands-on maintenance and repair clinic written by Park Tool and taught by the experts here at TriCycle and Run. Learn how your bike works, how to change a flat or overhaul your bike completely. Clinic curriculum and materials originate from the BBB-3 Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair, which acts as the outline for each clinic.  Our clinic will review the basics of home bicycle maintenance, plus give you the skills to perform basic bicycle tune-ups and diagnose and repair mechanical issues as they arise.

Registration fee:  $150 (includes a Park Tool Mechanics Apron & a copy of the Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair – a $50 Value)

2017 DATES:

January Park Tool School:  January 8 & 22  REGISTER HERE

February Park Tool School:  February 5 & 19   REGISTER HERE

**UPDATED**  March Park Tool School:  March 12 & 19  REGISTER HERE

Each workshop is a 2-day classroom style setting.  Class hours are 9:00am-1:00pm.  Lunch will be provided each day.  The registration fee of $150 is due on the first day of class.  Day one of each workshop will be an overview of basic bicycle information and maintenance knowledge.  Day 2 will be an intense hands-on classroom, so you are encouraged to bring your bicycle with you to class.  If you do not have a bicycle, but still want to learn, we can provide you with a bike to work on.  You should prepare to get your hands dirty on day 2!  It is truly a FUN experience, and a great workshop for every bike enthusiast!

REGISTRATION is required for these workshops as space is limited.  Please use the links posted above to register for either January, February or March.

HOLIDAY SHOPPERS, we think it is a great idea to purchase a GIFT CERTIFICATE to cover the cost of the clinic for the bike enthusiast in your life.  If you are interested, please call Laura today (410)745-2836.

4th Annual Shamrock Shuffle RESULTS

WHAT A GREAT TURNOUT THIS MORNING!  Thank you for your continued support in our efforts to give back to the community through our FREE 5K Fun Run Series!

Today marked our 48th event, and we had a great time!

RACE RESULTS HERE

Congratulations to our ‘winners’ this morning, Rebecca Fox and Andrea Smith, who both guessed their finish time within 10 seconds!

4th Annual Tacky Prom FREE 5K Fun Run

Spring means PROM Season!  And that means it is time for our 4th Annual ‘Tacky Prom’ Free 5K in our FREE Fun Run Series!   That’s right, we will be running in dresses, sequins, suits, hats…but we don’t recommend high heels!

So….go dig through your parents (or your grandparents) closets, and find the tackiest of dresses or suits to wear as you join us for this FUN RUN on Sunday, April 14th!  Check the thrift stores, check the local consignment shops….but remember you should be able to RUN in whatever you decide to wear!

We can promise some photographic evidence for years to come after this event!

We are keeping the giving going for our local After-Prom Party events and this month’s recipient of your Gift Card donations is St. Michaels High School After-Prom Party.  Each year, students that pledge to remain drug- and alcohol-free on prom night attend the Annual After Prom Party where they play games and are eligible to win various door prizes throughout the event.  Your gift card donations will go directly to the prize pot for these responsible students!  All types of gift cards are encouraged:  gas cards, grocery cards, Amazon cards, and the list goes on!  Any denomination is welcome.  Donations are NOT required to participate, but they are encouraged.  This is one small way that we help give back to the community that supports us.

You probably know the drill by now, but our Fun Run races are prediction races!  Meaning that you don’t have to be the first person to cross the finish line in order to win the race, you just need to guess your finish time by the closest margin in order to be declared an official winner!  Anyone that guesses their time within 10 seconds will be a race WINNER!

ONLINE REGISTRATION HERE

On-site registration and bib pick-up will begin here at the shop at 8:00am.  The race will begin promptly at 9:00am.  Participants are encouraged to arrive no later than 8:30am.  We also ask that everyone plan to park at St. Michaels Elementary School, located on Seymour Avenue, just a couple of blocks from the shop.

We will have a brief race meeting in the front parking lot at 8:45am to review the course details and any special offers for participants immediately following the race.

Come join us for a great event, and remember that our course is kid-, pet-, and stroller-friendly!  All ages and abilities are welcome!!
