2017 Park Tool School Workshops

park-tool-schoolWe are happy to announce that our Park Tool School Workshops will continue in 2017!

The Park Tool School is a hands-on maintenance and repair clinic written by Park Tool and taught by the experts here at TriCycle and Run. Learn how your bike works, how to change a flat or overhaul your bike completely. Clinic curriculum and materials originate from the BBB-3 Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair, which acts as the outline for each clinic.  Our clinic will review the basics of home bicycle maintenance, plus give you the skills to perform basic bicycle tune-ups and diagnose and repair mechanical issues as they arise.

Registration fee:  $150 (includes a Park Tool Mechanics Apron & a copy of the Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair – a $50 Value)

2017 DATES:

January Park Tool School:  January 8 & 22  REGISTER HERE

February Park Tool School:  February 5 & 19   REGISTER HERE

March Park Tool School:  March 5 & 19  REGISTER HERE

Each workshop is a 2-day classroom style setting.  Class hours are 9:00am-1:00pm.  Lunch will be provided each day.  The registration fee of $150 is due on the first day of class.  Day one of each workshop will be an overview of basic bicycle information and maintenance knowledge.  Day 2 will be an intense hands-on classroom, so you are encouraged to bring your bicycle with you to class.  If you do not have a bicycle, but still want to learn, we can provide you with a bike to work on.  You should prepare to get your hands dirty on day 2!  It is truly a FUN experience, and a great workshop for every bike enthusiast!

REGISTRATION is required for these workshops as space is limited.  Please use the links posted above to register for either January, February or March.

HOLIDAY SHOPPERS, we think it is a great idea to purchase a GIFT CERTIFICATE to cover the cost of the clinic for the bike enthusiast in your life.  If you are interested, please call Laura today (410)745-2836.

LOVE RUN FREE 5K Fun Run Results

Our 2nd Fun Run in the 2017 Series is in the books!  We had an AMAZING turnout on this unseasonably warm day for February, so please accept our sincerest thanks for your continued support.  Thanks to all of you, we will help stock the shelves at Talbot Humane!  Take a look at your haul!

We would like to take a minute and extend our apologies for the short course that everyone ran today.  We believe there may have been an arrow missing on the course to direct everyone down the 2nd cul de sac in Marea Terrace, which resulted in the course that most everyone completed to be around 2.8 miles.  We adjusted the distance in the timing system to reflect your pace for the actual course distance.  We will make sure to set up a cone for the next race so that you don’t miss the turn and get the complete 5K course!  Below is the link to the official results.  Out of the 78 participants today, we had 2 race ‘WINNERS’ and they are:  Todd Bellamy and Eric Griffioen!  Be sure to check in with Laura the next time you are at the shop for your prize!

Be sure to mark your calendars for our 2nd Annual Shamrock Shuffle FREE 5K event on Saturday, March 18th.  This event will benefit the SMHS After Prom Party, and we are asking that everyone bring a giftcard to donate to their door prizes.  Grocery cards, gas cards, restaurant cards, etc!  The After Prom Party is a safe, drug- and alcohol-free place for local teens to go immediately following the Prom, where there are activities, chaperones, music and PRIZES for them to win throughout the night!

Ladies Night Sip ‘n Shop is BACK!

Our Ladies Night Sip ‘n Shop events are back for 2017!

Come out and join Laura on Saturday, February 25th 6pm-9pm for an evening of after-hours fun.  Each of our Ladies Night events features a female speake from our community to talk about topics that relate to our path to wellness.  Light refreshments, a little wine, a little learning, AND some discount shopping…who could ask for a better reason to spend the night with us?

This event will feature a few of our local ‘food gurus’ in our community.  We are excited to have Emily Groll, from Eat Sprout, to join us with a few of their tasty offerings and a little know-how on food labeling.

We are also delighted to have Carol Bean, of Know Good Farm, with us to introduce her CSA program and talk about small, local agriculture.  If I know Carol, then I know she will have a few homemade goodies to share with everyone as well.  (a little birdie even said she might have some micro-greens just about ready in time…)

know-good

I (Laura) am a firm believer in serving ‘real food’, and I am always excited to talk about my love for food anytime.  I encourage my other ‘food lovers’ out there to come and share their successes with healthy eating and if you like, bring something to share.  If you want to bring a dish to share, email me with your ideas at laura@tricycleandrun.com

And, if you know of another expert who would want to share their knowledge with us, have them get in touch with me!
