2017 Park Tool School Workshops

park-tool-schoolWe are happy to announce that our Park Tool School Workshops will continue in 2017!

The Park Tool School is a hands-on maintenance and repair clinic written by Park Tool and taught by the experts here at TriCycle and Run. Learn how your bike works, how to change a flat or overhaul your bike completely. Clinic curriculum and materials originate from the BBB-3 Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair, which acts as the outline for each clinic.  Our clinic will review the basics of home bicycle maintenance, plus give you the skills to perform basic bicycle tune-ups and diagnose and repair mechanical issues as they arise.

Registration fee:  $150 (includes a Park Tool Mechanics Apron & a copy of the Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair – a $50 Value)

January Park Tool School:  January 8 & 22  REGISTER HERE

Each workshop is a 2-day classroom style setting.  Class hours are 9:00am-1:00pm.  Lunch will be provided each day.  The registration fee of $150 is due on the first day of class.  Day one of each workshop will be an overview of basic bicycle information and maintenance knowledge.  Day 2 will be an intense hands-on classroom, so you are encouraged to bring your bicycle with you to class.  If you do not have a bicycle, but still want to learn, we can provide you with a bike to work on.  You should prepare to get your hands dirty on day 2!  It is truly a FUN experience, and a great workshop for every bike enthusiast!

2nd Annual Shamrock Shuffle FREE 5K RESULTS

THANK YOU!  Thank you for coming out to celebrate our 2 Year Anniversary of our FREE 5K Fun Run Series at the Shamrock Shuffle this morning!

While the impending rain seems to have kept our participant total down a little from last month, we are always excited to have 50 runners (and walkers) join us on the trail!  We also collected a nice spread of gift cards and gift certificates that were given to the 2017 After-Prom Party Committee.

Congratulations to our sole winner today, Cheryl Overington!  Please be sure and stop by and see Laura for your prize!  Special mention to Ben Pittsley who came within 12 seconds of his guess!

2nd Annual Shamrock Shuffle FREE 5K RESULTS

Jellybean Jog FREE 5K Fun Run – April 15, 2017

Our FREE 5K Fun Run Series continues, so come out and join us for the Jellybean Jog 5K on Saturday April 15, 2017!  Race time is 9:00am and on-site registration will begin at 7:30am.  Please plan to arrive no later than 8:30am to complete your registration and pick-up your bib number.  It’s EASTER, and rumor has it that the Easter Bunny may make a visit to our race course and hide a few eggs along the way.   Last year’s easter eggs held some great prizes inside!

We believe in having FUN, and we will continue the fun with our winners being determined by who can guess their finish time by the closest margin.  If you can guess your time within 10 seconds, then YOU will be a WINNER!

Remember, there is no registration ‘fee’, but we do ask for a donation for a local cause.  This month we are collecting non-perishable food items to fill the shelves at the Christ Church St. Michaels Food Pantry.  Come out and help us give back to the community that has supported us these last five years!

As usual, this event is open to everyone.   All ages, all abilities, and even pets are allowed. One requirement….HAVE FUN!  We hope to see you in April!

Please remember to park at St. Michaels Elementary School (on Seymour Ave.), then make the short walk to the shop for the race start.  Pre-race meeting will begin at 8:45am in the front parking lot.

BONUS:  Bring a couple extra bucks to support the Bay Hundred Tides Softball team, as they will have a Bake Sale set up out front!
