5th Annual Ugly Sweater FREE 5K – Saturday, December 21st

HERE WE GO!

Everyone’s FAVORITE Fun Run of the year is set for Saturday, December 21, 2019!  Mark your calendars and start to look for your ugliest of ugly sweaters.

With the toy drive from this annual event, we are able to brighten the holidays for many of our area youth, so we will continue the tradition with this year’s event.  Since registration for this event is FREE, we kindly ask that you bring an unwrapped toy to donate as your participation ‘fee’.  Let’s see how full the we can make our tree this year!!  All the toys donated to go directly to the St. Michaels Community Center, ‘the heart of the community’.

Who doesn’t love a great UGLY SWEATER?  Even if you don’t currently have one hiding in the depths of your closet, we can bet you know where to find one, or can make one!   Tell your friends, bring your family, but make sure you join us for this EPIC event!

To make this event even more fun, we will award prizes for various categories for your ‘Ugly Sweaters’!

Categories are as follows:

Best (UGLIEST) Traditional
Best (UGLIEST) Homemade
Best (UGLIEST) Non-traditional
Best (UGLIEST) Couple/Family/Group
(Stay tuned for official rules to be announced closer to the race date)

Our FREE 5K series is designed to be FUN!  With that in mind, all of the races are prediction races.  That means you try to GUESS your finish time before you start.  Those that come the closest to their actual time (within 10 seconds) will be declared the WINNERS!!

ONLINE REGISTRATION HERE

Since parking is limited at the store, please plan to park at St. Michaels Elementary School, then make the short, 2-block walk to the shop on race morning.  On-site registration and bib pick-up will begin at 7:30am. Race time is 9:00am and on-site registration will begin at 8:00am. Please plan to arrive no later than 8:30am to complete your registration and pick-up your bib number.

As always there is no registration fee, however we do ask that you bring a donation to a local charity in our community. This month we are asking for donations for Talbot Humane. Any and all pet items are welcome! Come out and help us give back to the community that has supported us these last eight years!

You can also check out their WISH LIST HERE.

We believe in having FUN, and we will continue the fun with our winners being determined by who can guess their finish time by the closest margin. If you can guess your time within 10 seconds, then YOU will be a WINNER!

Our friends at Lyon Distilling Company will be opening their tasting room doors early for participants immediately following the event. Stop by with your bib number for a taste of locally made spirits right here in our beautiful town! PLUS, your bib number will get you an exclusive RUM RUNNER discount of 10% off!

Please remember to park at St. Michaels Elementary School (on Seymour Ave.), then make the short walk to the shop for the race start. The pre-race meeting will begin at 8:45am in the front parking lot.
