“I Thought They Said RUM” Free 5K Fun Run

That’s right, it’s back!  Once again, we have partnered with our friends over at Lyon Distilling Co. to bring you another “I Thought They Said RUM” Free 5K.

Join us on July 13th and make sure you keep your bib to take down to the tasting room!

Race time is 9:00am and on-site registration will begin at 8:00am. Please plan to arrive no later than 8:30am to complete your registration and pick-up your bib number.

As always there is no registration fee, however we do ask that you bring a donation to a local charity in our community. This month we are asking for donations for Talbot Humane. Any and all pet items are welcome! Come out and help us give back to the community that has supported us these last eight years!

You can also check out their WISH LIST HERE.

We believe in having FUN, and we will continue the fun with our winners being determined by who can guess their finish time by the closest margin. If you can guess your time within 10 seconds, then YOU will be a WINNER!

As usual, this event is open to everyone. All ages, all abilities, and even pets are allowed. One requirement….HAVE FUN! We hope to see you on July 13th! PLUS, when we say RUM, we mean RUM! Our friends at Lyon Distilling Company will be opening their tasting room doors early for participants immediately following the event. Stop by with your bib number for a taste of locally made spirits right here in our beautiful town! PLUS, your bib number will get you an exclusive RUM RUNNER discount of 10% off!

Please remember to park at St. Michaels Elementary School (on Seymour Ave.), then make the short walk to the shop for the race start. The pre-race meeting will begin at 8:45am in the front parking lot.

Plus, remember we are always looking for volunteers! Let us know if you can help!

4th Annual Tacky Prom FREE 5K Fun Run – TAKE 2

Spring means PROM Season!  And that means it is time for our 4th Annual ‘Tacky Prom’ Free 5K in our FREE Fun Run Series!   That’s right, we will be running in dresses, sequins, suits, hats…but we don’t recommend high heels!

So….go dig through your parents (or your grandparents) closets, and find the tackiest of dresses or suits to wear as you join us for this FUN RUN on Sunday, May 12th!  Check the thrift stores, check the local consignment shops….but remember you should be able to RUN in whatever you decide to wear!

We can promise some photographic evidence for years to come after this event!

While we had to cancel the initial date of this event, we know that this race is one of our most popular ones, so with that, our May race lives on as the Tacky Prom FREE 5k.  The schools in St. Michaels are sending 3 Destination Imagination teams to the Global competition in Missouri later in May, and they are in need of a few supplies to help them out.  Most specifically, they are in need of duct tape for some on-site projects that they will all be participating in once they arrive.  We will be adding items you can donate over the next couple of weeks as well!  For more information about the DI programming, take a look at their website:  https://www.destinationimagination.org/

You probably know the drill by now, but our Fun Run races are prediction races!  Meaning that you don’t have to be the first person to cross the finish line in order to win the race, you just need to guess your finish time by the closest margin in order to be declared an official winner!  Anyone that guesses their time within 10 seconds will be a race WINNER!

ONLINE REGISTRATION HERE

On-site registration and bib pick-up will begin here at the shop at 8:00am.  The race will begin promptly at 9:00am.  Participants are encouraged to arrive no later than 8:30am.  We also ask that everyone plan to park at St. Michaels Elementary School, located on Seymour Avenue, just a couple of blocks from the shop.

We will have a brief race meeting in the front parking lot at 8:45am to review the course details and any special offers for participants immediately following the race.

Come join us for a great event, and remember that our course is kid-, pet-, and stroller-friendly!  All ages and abilities are welcome!!
