JUST ANNOUNCED! Pocomoke Triathlon

TCR Event Management is excited to announce the 2018 Pocomoke Triathlon on June 23, 2018!

This race, formerly known as the Tri The Beach race of the Lower Shore Family YMCA, has been reworked and re-branded by TCR Event Management, out of St Michaels, MD. This sprint distance event will take place at the Lower Shore Family YMCA’s grounds, located at 1900 Worcester Hwy, Pocomoke City, MD, on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018.

The race will entail a Sprint Triathlon (.5 mile swim, 14 mile bike, 3.1 mile run), as well as a kids triathlon (100 yard swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run). The swim will be in a freshwater pond, located behind the YMCA. After you are complete, you will travel out on to the roadways of Worcester County, with law enforcement assisting you at the intersections, to ensure a smooth and safe race. Complete the bike and then it’s on to our out-and-back 5k course, all before finishing up at the Lower Shore Family YMCA for a post-celebration meal and awards!!

Come out and compete against other local triathletes, or use the race as your first taste of triathlon. Many participants like our pond swim to build up their confidence and the roadways are flat flat FLAT!!!

Packet pickup will begin at 6:30am on Race Day and the Sprint Race begins at 8am. Bring the kids and the whole family and spend the rest of the day in Ocean City, Maryland (about 35 miles away) or explore the charming town of Pocomoke City!

Registration for this event is open and available HERE!

Transition clinic and Bottle Transfer Practice

This Saturday, April 30th,  we will host a short clinic about setting up your transition area for a triathlon. Perfect for the first timer and for the seasoned pro. Who knows what tips you might pick up, or even give!

In addition to the transitions, we will also be going over a special aspect of Half-Ironman racing, the bottle transfer on the bike. This is a perfect time to practice riding and grabbing a bottle in a safe and controlled environment. A MUST HAVE skill for anyone looking to do a long course event this season.

Bring your bike and your gear (maybe you are already packing it up for the Nanticoke Sprint Triathlon on Sunday) and see how to set up your spot… and practice the water bottle handoff in addition (this is normally applicable to Half Iron and Full Iron distances, but some Olympics may include it)

The CLINIC WILL BE FROM 9am to 10am on Saturday, April 30th, 2016. There is a Facebook Event for the clinic as well. Please LIKE and SHARE!!  https://www.facebook.com/events/845966705530375/
