Gobble Wobble FREE 5K Fun Run

TRICYCLE AND RUN FREE 5K SERIES

Come out and join us for our next Free 5K on Saturday, November 17, the Gobble Wobble 5K to benefit our local food bank.

Race time is 9:00am and on-site registration will begin at 8:00am inside the shop. Please plan to arrive no later than 8:30am to complete your registration and pick-up your bib number. Yes, this race will be chip-timed!

Remember, there is no registration ‘fee’, but we do ask for a donation for a local cause. This month we are collecting non-perishable food items to give to our local food bank to help with the holiday meals they prepare for those less fortunate in our community. Come out and help us give back to the community that has supported us these last seven years!

ONLINE REGISTRATION AVAILABLE HERE

We believe in having FUN, and we will continue the fun with our winners being determined by who can guess their finish time by the closest margin. If you can guess your time within 10 seconds, then YOU will be a WINNER!

As usual, this event is open to everyone. All ages, all abilities, and even pets are allowed. One requirement….HAVE FUN! We hope to see you in a couple of weeks!

Please remember to park at St. Michaels Elementary School (on Seymour Ave.), then make the short walk to the shop for the race start. Pre-race meeting will begin at 8:45am in the front parking lot.

Plus, remember we are always looking for volunteers! Let us know if you can help!

2nd Annual Talbot Goes Purple FREE 5K Fun Run

We hope you will plan to join us for our September installment in our FREE 5K Fun Run series as we join the effort to raise awareness of substance abuse in Talbot County.  For this event, taking place on Sunday September 9, we are partnering with the Talbot Goes Purple initiative.

Talbot Goes Purple is a substance abuse awareness program that will engage our community and youth to stand against substance abuse.

The project is based upon THP Project Purple, an initiative of The Herren Project, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation established by former NBA basketball player, Chris Herren, that assists individuals and families struggling with addiction.

Talbot Goes Purple is an initiative from Talbot County Sheriff’s Office and Tidewater Rotary, in partnership with Talbot County Public Schools and Mid-Shore Community Foundation.

For more information about the Talbot Goes Purple initiative and for other ways to contribute to the effort, please visit https://www.talbotgoespurple.org/

In keeping with our FREE events, we do not ask for monetary donations, but rather encourage all participants to bring an item to donate to help create ‘blessing bags’ that will be provided to those individuals currently struggling with substance abuse in our community.  Items to consider include:

-Chapstick
-Facial Wipes
-Moisturizer
-Comb
-Toothbrush
-Toothpaste
-Q-Tips
-Multipurpose Wipes
-Compact First Aid Kit
-EmergenC Packets (when people start to feel sick)
-Hand Warmers
-Warm Socks
-Prepaid Phone Cards

As always, the race will begin at 9:00am, with on-site registration and bib pickup available beginning at 8:00am here at the shop.  We will have a brief race meeting at 8:45am in our front parking lot.  And remember, we aim to have FUN with these events.  Each race is a prediction race!  You try and guess your finish time, and anyone who guesses their actual finish time within 10 seconds will be declared a WINNER and receive a gift certificate to the shop.

If you want to come out and show your support, but don’t want to run or walk, please remember that we are always in need of volunteers to lend a hand.

See you on September 9th!
