Back to School FREE 5K Fun Run

 

It’s that time again!  Come out and join us for our August FREE Fun Run on Sunday, August 18 at 9:00am.

Mark your calendars and join us for an event open to all ages and abilities.  Our course is ideal for four-legged friends as well as strollers too!

All of our races are ‘FREE’, but we do encourage participants to bring a donation to various charities and organizations.  Our goal with this event is to fill our local schools with additional school supplies for those in need for the upcoming school year.  Suggested items to donate include glue sticks, pencils, folders, notebooks, dry erase markers, loose leaf paper, antibacterial wipes, tissue and the list goes on and on!

As always, this is a prediction race – meaning you try to guess your finish time.  Anyone that guesses their finish within 10 seconds of your official race time will be declared a winner and receive a Gift Certificate for the shop.

We encourage everyone to complete online registration, but we will also have race day registration available inside the shop beginning at 8:00am on race day.  Bib pickup will also begin at 8am.  Pre-race meeting will begin promptly at 8:45am in our front parking lot at the store.  Race will begin at 9:00am.

Please plan to park in the St. Michaels Elementary School lot and make the short walk (2 blocks) down to the store for the race start.  There is one water station on course that participants have access to twice during the race.  We will also provide bottled water at the finish line as well.

Pumpkin Run FREE 5K Fun Run

Come out and join us for our next race in our TriCycle and Run FREE 5K Series on Saturday, October 20 at 9:00am.

Planning a trip to St. Michaels for the Fall into St. Michaels weekend?  Make sure you plan to kick the weekend off right by joining us and helping the After School Kids program at St. Michaels Community Center!  For this race we will be collecting donations to fill the current wish list of supplies for the community center.  Items needed include:  basketballs, sidewalk chalk, Barbies, Barbie accessories, AA and AAA batteries, craft kits for kids, activity workbooks for grades K-5, no-sew blanket kits, healthy snacks, cases of bottled water, and more that can be found inside their latest newsletter, http://www.stmichaelscc.org/uploads/8/1/4/8/81485002/sept._2018_newsletter.pdf

This timed event will begin promptly at 9:00am.  We will have a brief race meeting at 8:45am in the front parking lot of the shop, then move over the start line for the race as a group.  We ask that participants plan to park at St. Michaels Elementary School then make the short walk down to the shop for the start of the race.

On-site registration and bib pickup will begin at 8:00am, and we encourage everyone to try and arrive no later than 8:30am.  The course utilizes most of the St. Michaels Nature Trail making the race ideal for participants of all ages and abilities.  Strollers as well as four-legged friends are always welcome.

As usual, this event is designed to be FUN!!  As such, this is a prediction race….meaning that just because you cross the finish line first, doesn’t necessarily mean that you are the race winner.  You will need to guess your finish time by the closest margin to be declared a race winner! Anyone within 10 seconds of their official time will be declared a race winner!
