3rd Annual Shamrock Shuffle FREE 5K Fun Run

Our FREE 5K Fun Run series continues into 2018, and we hope you will join us for our 3rd Annual Shamrock Shuffle FREE 5K on Saturday, March 17th! A FREE Fun Run means NO registration fee, but we do ask that everyone bring something to donate to our charity partner. For this race, we will be collecting gift card donations for the St. Michaels High School After-Prom Party. The gift cards we collect will be used as door prizes throughout the night at the 2018 After-Prom Party event. Help us reward the students of Talbot County that choose to remain drug- and alcohol-free on prom night.

Prom night is, statistically, one of the most dangerous nights of a student’s high school career. They may be invited to other parties that offer alcohol, often drugs are readily available and quite often students have sex on Prom night, leading to unplanned pregnancies. WE have to make sure that the SMHS After Prom Party is THE party our children choose to attend after their prom. Our mission is to keep kids safe and let’s get real…to keep them ALIVE and well.

While the party is free to students, it is an event that requires much financial support from the business community and people like you who believe in investing in the safety of students on a night that they will remember for the rest of their lives.

As for race day, please plan to arrive at the shop (TriCycle and Run – 929 S. Talbot St. – St. Michaels – MD – 21663) no later than 8:30am to pick up your bib and complete registration. Please plan to park at St. Michaels Elementary School (on Seymour Ave.), then make the short walk down to the shop. There will be a pre-race meeting in the front parking lot at 8:45am. We will then walk as a group to the start line across the street at 9:00am.

As usual, this event is designed to be FUN!! As such, this is a prediction race….meaning that just because you cross the finish line first, doesn’t necessarily mean that you are the race winner. You will need to guess your finish time by the closest margin to be declared a race winner!!

3rd Annual Ugly Sweater FREE 5K Fun Run

IT’S BACK!!

All the permits have been submitted, so we are happy to announce that our 3nd Annual UGLY SWEATER 5K Fun Run is scheduled for Sunday, December 10th!

With our toy drive from this event last year and the year before, we were able to brighten the holidays for many of our area youth, so we will continue the tradition with this year’s event.  Since registration for this event is FREE, we kindly ask that you bring an unwrapped toy to donate as your participation ‘fee’.  Let’s see how full the we can make our tree this year!!

Who doesn’t love a great UGLY SWEATER?  Even if you don’t currently have one hiding in the depths of your closet, we can bet you know where to find one, or can make one!   Tell your friends, bring your family, but make sure you join us for this EPIC event!

To make this event even more fun, we will award prizes for various categories for your ‘Ugly Sweaters’ this year!

Categories are as follows:

  1. Best (UGLIEST) Traditional
  2. Best (UGLIEST) Homemade
  3. Best (UGLIEST) Non-traditional
  4. Best (UGLIEST) Couple/Family/Group

Our 5K series is designed to be FUN!  With that in mind, all of our races are prediction races.  That means we ask you to GUESS your finish time before you start.  Those that come the closest to their actual time (within 10 seconds) will be declared the WINNERS!!

Since parking is limited here at the store, we ask that you plan to park at St. Michaels Elementary School, then make the short, 2-block walk to the shop on race morning.  On-site registration and bib pick-up will begin at 7:30am.  We will have a brief pre-race meeting in our front parking lot at 8:45am, then cross the street together to the race start line.  The race will begin at 9:00am.  We will have one water station set up on the course, which is passed twice.  All ages and abilities are welcome to participate in this event.  Runners, walkers, joggers, walk/jog, child strollers and 4-legged friends….all are welcome!

Remember that if you don’t want to walk or run, then we could always use an extra hand or two as a race volunteer!!
