Ladies Night Sip ‘n Shop is BACK!

Our Ladies Night Sip ‘n Shop events are back for 2017!

Come out and join Laura on Saturday, February 25th 6pm-9pm for an evening of after-hours fun.  Each of our Ladies Night events features a female speake from our community to talk about topics that relate to our path to wellness.  Light refreshments, a little wine, a little learning, AND some discount shopping…who could ask for a better reason to spend the night with us?

This event will feature a few of our local ‘food gurus’ in our community.  We are excited to have Emily Groll, from Eat Sprout, to join us with a few of their tasty offerings and a little know-how on food labeling.

We are also delighted to have Carol Bean, of Know Good Farm, with us to introduce her CSA program and talk about small, local agriculture.  If I know Carol, then I know she will have a few homemade goodies to share with everyone as well.  (a little birdie even said she might have some micro-greens just about ready in time…)

I (Laura) am a firm believer in serving ‘real food’, and I am always excited to talk about my love for food anytime.  I encourage my other ‘food lovers’ out there to come and share their successes with healthy eating and if you like, bring something to share.  If you want to bring a dish to share, email me with your ideas at laura@tricycleandrun.com

And, if you know of another expert who would want to share their knowledge with us, have them get in touch with me!

Happy birthday to us… Here are the presents for YOU!!!!

we-are-5-5k

Wow what a weekend! Just 5 years ago we opened our doors to our community of St Michaels with the dream of being a central point for area (and visiting) athletes to have to get the equipment that they needed. Our hope was that we would grow the number of people in the area who were concerned about their fitness and help anyone who needed guidance, achieve their goals. From our monthly Free 5ks to our group bike rides and runs, to our ladies’ night clinics (starting back up for the winter), we try to give back when we can. We hope that we have been able to help you in your journey!!

So this weekend is always a big deal for us. Not only is it the shop’s anniversary but Laura’s birthday is coming up (on the 12th) and the live streaming broadcast for the Ironman World Championships from Kona, Hawaii, are always played, bringing in lots of local triathletes. We all sat around last night and watched OUR Superbowl play out on live TV. This was after we were able to help out one of our community partners, the Talbot Humane Society, by timing their Bark In The Park 5k, on Saturday morning!! (RESULTS CAN BE FOUND AT https://www.webscorer.com/race?raceid=83142)

Sunday morning we were going to have our 5th anniversary FREE 5k where participants brought gloves, hats and scarves for us to give to our local schools to distribute. The winds were howling, the rain was pouring, and yet 5 brave souls came out and battled the weather! Congratulations to Shawn, Steven, Grizzly, Todd and Mitch for coming out.   YOUR race results can be found at https://www.webscorer.com/race?raceid=83285

As the day went on, we got a surprise visit from one of our friends, Senator Addie Eckardt, who brought us a State Citation for being involved with the community for the past 5 years. We were very excited about that and will proudly display this. We don’t do what we do for the praise, but it’s still pretty cool to see it. 😉
