Wow what a weekend! Just 5 years ago we opened our doors to our community of St Michaels with the dream of being a central point for area (and visiting) athletes to have to get the equipment that they needed. Our hope was that we would grow the number of people in the area who were concerned about their fitness and help anyone who needed guidance, achieve their goals. From our monthly Free 5ks to our group bike rides and runs, to our ladies’ night clinics (starting back up for the winter), we try to give back when we can. We hope that we have been able to help you in your journey!!
So this weekend is always a big deal for us. Not only is it the shop’s anniversary but Laura’s birthday is coming up (on the 12th) and the live streaming broadcast for the Ironman World Championships from Kona, Hawaii, are always played, bringing in lots of local triathletes. We all sat around last night and watched OUR Superbowl play out on live TV. This was after we were able to help out one of our community partners, the Talbot Humane Society, by timing their Bark In The Park 5k, on Saturday morning!! (RESULTS CAN BE FOUND AT https://www.webscorer.com/race?raceid=83142)
Sunday morning we were going to have our 5th anniversary FREE 5k where participants brought gloves, hats and scarves for us to give to our local schools to distribute. The winds were howling, the rain was pouring, and yet 5 brave souls came out and battled the weather! Congratulations to Shawn, Steven, Grizzly, Todd and Mitch for coming out. As the day went on, we got a surprise visit from one of our friends, Senator Addie Eckardt, who brought us a State Citation for being involved with the community for the past 5 years. We were very excited about that and will proudly display this. We don’t do what we do for the praise, but it’s still pretty cool to see it. 😉
Over the past two days we have had some generous door prizes donated by some of our friends and cohorts and any customer who came in the shop was able to put their name is for the prizes of their choosing. So, without further ado the winners are:
